Hello and Welcome to Making a Merry Mess!
I am so glad you are here!
This is/will become a lifestyle blog for those with a creative soul and an inventive spirit. Note that I did not say you have to be creative or inventive.
I will be sharing ideas and inspiration that apply to moms and crafters in all stages of their journey. I hope you feel inclined to comment often and share your tips, thoughts and ideas too.
I was a first-grade teacher for 7 years before becoming a mom and deciding home was truly where my heart is. I miss my kids at school dearly but I have been the CEO of our home now for 7 years. It was the best choice I could have made and luckily, it was the right one for me and my family.

If you are not sure who you are and you just want to know there is someone out there doing their best and making a Merry Mess alongside you, you belong here.
You can read more about me and my merry band of mess makers
on the Who am I page page but let me give you a quick snapshot. If you are none of those things, but you want to be, then this will be your place for inspiration.

I am a mom to a kind, compassionate, head
strong, 7-year-old daughter. I also have
a rambunctious, active, funny, 5-year-old son.
They are my pride and joy and the key players in the MESS that is life
in our house.
I have an amazing husband that is my partner in crime. He was my best friend for many years before
we got married so he was aware of my quirks and knew what he was getting in to.

I love a good project and love when I can get the kids
involved. I also like practicality. Most of what I make serves a purpose.
I am a ruthless purge queen and I like things organized but I also like cozy dwellings that show signs of life and love.
I love decorating for the holidays and I go overboard and can be a little “extra” when entertaining friends or throwing birthday parties. (I hear admitting you have a problem is the first sign of recovery but… I have no intention of stopping.)

I take on many projects and do many activities but...
My
passion is telling our story and preserving our memories.
I have been a memory keeper for over 25 years
in one capacity or another. I do a
mixture of digital, traditional and pocket pages. I do a modified version of project life and
each year and I make a December Daily Album.
I will be sharing content for all of those projects and so many more
here on this blog.
So, if you are ready to get a little inspiration and would
like a friend that is just a little “extra” to lead the way, we are going to be
a great fit.
